Walk up to Parc du Château, Nice, France

As you climb up out of the old town, there are fine views across the rooftops of the city. The bell tower of the Couvent Saint-François de Nice is one of the most striking landmarks

The view inland taking in the brutalist Acropolis conference and exhibition centre and the surrounding hills

The narrow streets and lanes of Vieux Nice lead down to the flower market and the promenade des Anglais

The  Cathédrale de Sainte Réparate rises above the terracotta rooftops of the old city

A cobbled terrace in Parc du Château, 90 metres above the bay, provides far-reaching views across the city

Vieux Nice is separated from the new town by the green Promenade du Paillon
