Walcot Square, South London

The restrained stock brick terraces around the triangular Walcot Square date from the 1830s. The area's Conservation Report lists defining features as strong parapet lines, black painted doors and stucco door surrounds, while some houses have tall casement windows with ornamental cast iron balconettes. The tall and slender chimney stacks are in brickwork to match the house and have traditional copings and terracotta pots. Walcot Square itself is enclosed by reproduction iron railings and features a lawn planted with "specimen trees".
