New Square, Lincoln's Inn, Central London

Built between 1682 and 1693, New Square retains much of its original 17th century character and features.  The barristers' chambers within are still protected by wrought iron railings and reached by elegant York stone paving. The doorways to the five storey terraces are decorated with ornate plaster work. Developed by Henry Serle, the square was originally called Serle Court.
